Our History and Facts
Aon is the product of the vision and entrepreneurial flair of American businessman Patrick G Ryan. Since 1971, when Mr Ryan created Aon Corporation, he has successfully developed it into a US$7.1 billion enterprise of brokers, consultants and specialty underwriters which has become a workplace trendsetter in the insurance industry.

In 1994, Mr Ryan launched plans to become the leading consolidator in brokerage and specialist insurance. He achieved this goal by leading his company through a process of strategic shifts. These changes included the acquisition of new operations; instilling within these firms Aon’s broader range of services and products and, by the development of a culture within Aon of interdependence, innovation and problem solving with its clients.
