Aon Affinity to partner with Reckon to support small businesses in Australia

SYDNEY, March 7, 2024 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, has announced that it has partnered with accounting and payroll company Reckon, to offer its customers a range of insurance options to help support and protect small businesses across Australia.

With small to medium businesses in Australia potentially underinsured by 57 percent, insurance should be a key consideration for every small business to address the common risks in each industry – such as professional indemnity, professional liability, accident or cyber risks.

Reckon customers will have access to Australian-based SME-focused brokers for personalised insurance options, full claims support via the Reckon Customer Concierge, and access to a range of thought leadership content including a series of articles and webinars focusing on risk mitigation strategies and insurance solutions.

Commenting on the agreement, Lisa Henderson, managing director of Aon Affinity, said: “Aon is pleased to work with Reckon to assist in addressing the underserved needs of small business owners and give them the clarity and confidence to make better decisions to protect and grow their businesses. All small businesses can be affected by operational risks and these can often have a big impact especially when also taking into account economic factors such as high interest rates and inflation. Making sure small businesses are adequately supported by the right insurance cover can help business owners focus on what they do best.”

Reckon CEO Sam Allert added: “At Reckon, we work with high quality organisations that share our values, because we put our customers at the centre of everything we do. And we understand that being a small business owner is a juggling act, and insurance might not always be a priority. That’s why we’ve partnered with Aon, to help small businesses focus on their needs and provide peace of mind. Reckon's purpose is to create technology and solutions that serve our business communities, and the ability to offer insurance is a significant and critical part of helping small businesses become and stay successful.”
