Aon aligns its superannuation, wealth consulting and actuarial services with new appointment

SYDNEY, 13 January 2022 - Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, has announced the appointment of Saffron Sweeney as Head of Wealth Solutions, Australia and Chief Actuary Wealth Solutions, Asia Pacific, ensuring its superannuation, wealth consulting and actuarial services are positioned to deliver integrated client service in Australia and across the region.

Aon’s Wealth Solutions team provides retirement, investment, actuarial, and financial wellbeing services that help organisations manage risk and optimise their employee offering in a constantly evolving environment.

Aon’s Wealth Solutions practice is an industry leader with more than US$1.3 billion in global revenue delivered through more than 4500 specialist colleagues, three million participants administered, US$3.6 trillion in assets under advisement and US$4 trillion of liabilities valued.

Aon’s new structure encompassing its APAC business means greater consistency and strong focus on an integrated client approach across the region, plus accelerated leveraging in areas such as responsible investing (ESG), real estate, private debt and alternative investments, retirement Income innovation, and employee financial wellbeing.

Saffron’s appointment to Head of Wealth Solutions, Australia and Chief Actuary Wealth Solutions, Asia-Pacific will ensure greater oversight and an expanded focus into the region on meeting ever-changing client needs.

“Driven by major demographic shifts, wealth inequality, disruption and financial market complexity, the global savings and wealth landscape is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate. Aon’s team is best placed to help employers, superannuation funds and investment officers make better decisions to optimise outcomes and provide a more secure future,” said Ashley Palmer, Head of Wealth Solutions, Asia-Pacific for Aon.

Speaking on her appointment, Saffron said she is looking forward to driving a more connected approach across employee reward, benefits and retirement plans.

“I am excited to share our expertise and expanded capabilities with our clients in Australia and across APAC, which will include bringing in our experts on reward, health and other employee benefits to join with our superannuation, actuarial and wealth consulting team. We will work with clients to establish wealth, rewards and wellbeing programs that set them apart from their competitors, assisting them in measuring the effectiveness of their employee offering and partner with them towards becoming an employer of choice. We will combine the best thinking across our business to deliver solutions for our clients that remove complexity so to enable better financial decision-making,” said Saffron.

Saffron has more than 28 years of experience in employee benefits consulting, including defined contribution, defined benefit, and long service leave benefits.
