Liability Insurance
Liability - the triple threat: Multiple exposures, Court awards, Legal defence costs
Running a business is not easy - you have to manage government requirements, tax, staffing, profit-making … and that's without even thinking about all the legal requirements and obligations you have as a business owner.
Aon has a comprehensive range of liability insurance to help you manage the specific legal requirements of your business.
Protecting your legal liability to third parties is easy with Aon's range of liability insurance products. Very often it is the cost of defending yourself and the business against third party litigation (rather than damages) that is the major expense. You may not be liable at law but you still have to pay the legal costs.
About Aon's main liability covers:
Public Liability: bodily injury to third parties, and/or damage to third party property. Also includes protection against liability arising from advertising on your behalf.
Product Liability: injury to third parties, damage to third party property and advertising liability caused by products manufactured or sold by you. On request, we can extend this to include product guarantee, recall or tampering. Your net profit can also be insured against malicious tampering of a product.
Professional Indemnity/Errors and Omissions:
claims made due to a breach or alleged breach of professional
duty or error in the conduct of your business, which gives rise to a financial
loss by a third party who acted on advice given by you, your employees or
consultants.
Directors and Officers Liability:
personal liability of directors arising
from their duties as directors as well as legal expenses incurred by the business
in successfully defending any action brought against an individual director
or other person.
Employment Practices Liability:
costs and awards your business is legally liable to pay due to claims made by your employees in respect to employment issues.
Workers' Compensation:
compulsory insurance that covers your employees for injuries specified by Workers' Compensation legislation.
Umbrella Liability:
increases the limits of liability coverage available by providing additional cover to nominated liability policies, including public liability, product liability, motor third party property damage.
Association Liability:
covers public liability for the association and the personal liability of its officers and/or committee.
