Floods That Are Not Floods
by James Irish
The insurance issues that arose from floods in the Sydney-Gosford region in the 1980s, and at Benalla, Coffs Harbour, Townsville, Katherine, and Wollongong in the last five years are reviewed. Some recommendations for the form that 'flood' cover should take and for industry cooperation in hazard rating are made.
