Volunteers Vital Pack

Volunteers Vital Pack
Aon keeps volunteers covered

2001 was the International Year of the Volunteer; much effort has gone into raising the profile of volunteers and the issues concerning volunteering.

Volunteering Australia, representing over 100,000 volunteer groups nationwide, has been lobbying the various levels of government to put into place compulsory insurance cover for voluntary workers and their activities.

Working together, Volunteering Australia and Aon have developed the Volunteers Vital Pack - a range of comprehensive cost-effective insurance products and services for volunteers.

Volunteers Vital Pack is tailored to your organisation's or agency's needs. It covers directors, paid workers, and volunteers, and the activities they carry out on behalf of your organisation.

Vital Pack's main covers
Voluntary Workers' Personal Accident covers volunteers for accidental injury or death with a nil waiting period, a low $50 excess on medical claims and cover beyond age 65. Flexible benefit options to suit the budget including a weekly benefit to cover either wages lost or expected expenses. It includes cover for some of the expenses that Medicare doesn't pay.
Public and Product Liability covers activities of the organisation and volunteers.
Property fire, burglary, plate glass, money, machinery breakdown and general property.
Comprehensive Motor Vehicle cover for vehicles owned by the organisation with a flat deductible.
Motor Non-Owned provides protection for volunteers who use their own vehicles on behalf of the organisation from loss of excess paid to their comprehensive insurer.
Association Liability a single insurance policy for not-for-profit organisations that covers professional indemnity and directors and officers, where the sum insured is nominated by the policy owner.

The Aon difference

Volunteers Vital Pack provides practical cover for real life situations. Five years ago a volunteer driver was killed in a car accident. Compulsory third party cover provided a limited benefit. Cover through Vital Pack ensured that his beneficiaries received a death benefit. When a snake bit a volunteer animal collector, his non-Medicare medical expenses were covered under our policy wording, which includes animal bites as an accidental injury.

We solve problems, that is why we have been Volunteering Australia's endorsed insurance broker for seven years.
